Chambliss Center for Children is looking for a dedicated and passionate early childhood teacher interested in working inside of an innovative childcare model. This early learning classroom is located inside of the Tyner Academy to allow Tyner teachers and staff to have on-site childcare.  This classroom is mixed-age (infant through PreK) and managed by Chambliss Center for Children.

Important Note: This is a school-year only position and follows the Hamilton County Schools calendar. This role does not include benefits and will not continue over summer break.

Location: Chambliss Center at Tyner Academy, 6836 Tyner Road, Chattanooga TN 37421
Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
Pay: Starts at $12/hour with a High School diploma and limited child care experience. Rates increase with education and experience.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background screening
• Early Childhood Education experience preferred.
• Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• Passion for working with children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stays with and supervises all activities of the assigned group of children when on duty, including the supervision of children inside and outside the building, during special events, and during all other activities.
• Plans, directs, and participates in all areas of activities in the classroom directed toward the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children in their care.
• Maintains an orderly classroom.
• Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with all staff, parents, and volunteers of the agency.
• Is alert to the medical needs of children in their care and appropriately acts on their observations.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
