Are you ready to teach, lead, and inspire?
Join us at Chambliss Center for Children at Tyner Academy, where you’ll lead a classroom of young children and mentor high school students preparing for careers in education! We’re looking for a Lead Teacher in our mixed-age (0-5 years old) early childhood classroom who is organized, enthusiastic, and passionate about child development. In this role, you’ll manage classroom activities, supervise other teachers on-site, and coordinate enrollment and fee tracking — all while guiding and inspiring the next generation of educators through Tyner Academy’s Future Ready Institute.
Important Note: This is a school-year only position and follows the Hamilton County Schools calendar. This role does not include benefits and will not continue over summer break.
Pay: $14-$20/hour depending on education and experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the day-to-day operations and activities of the classroom.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support children's growth in all domains.
- Supervise and schedule classroom staff to ensure coverage and quality care.
- Handle child enrollment, fee payments, and data entry in ProCare.
- Collaborate with the Future Ready Institute to provide student learning opportunities.
- Mentor Tyner Academy high school students by modeling best practices in early childhood education
Requirements:
- CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of childcare licensing rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient with computer programs, including data entry systems like ProCare.
- Creative, adaptable, and able to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
