Newton Child Development Center is looking for an enthusiastic teacher our team of early childhood educators. In this role, you’ll help nurture young children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth — creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where they can thrive.

Position Details:

• Location: Newton Child Development Center, 1301 Grove Street, Chattanooga TN 37402
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9:00am-6:00pm
• Pay: From $13.00 per hour with a high school diploma and limited experience; from $15.00 per hour with a CDA; increasing with education and experience.

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working with children in a classroom setting strongly preferred.
• Able to pass a fingerprint background check.

Responsibilities:

• Stay engaged and supervise children in your care, ensuring safety and promoting active participation in all activities.
• Plan and lead activities that support children’s development in social, emotional, physical, and cognitive areas.
• Maintain an organized and supportive classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with staff, parents, and volunteers.
• Be attentive to the health and well-being of children, responding to their needs as appropriate.
• Perform other work-related duties assigned by the Director.
