Our Little Scholars classroom operates in conjunction with the MOMentum Network to support single moms while they attend college. As a teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of the young children enrolled in the program. As the lead teacher, you will also be responsible for the enrollment of children and maintaining accurate records, and will participate in the supervision of other staff.
Little Scholars is located at 1152 Lincoln Park Lane, Chattanooga, TN 37403
Pay: Starts at $14/hour with a CDA; $15.50/hour with an associates. Rates increase with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CDA or higher degree in ECE strongly preferred.
- Experience in Early Childhood Education required.
- Management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Able to pass a fingerprint background check.
Duties:
- Carries responsibility for the admission of all children into care and discharge of all children from care at the site; maintains accurate records of all children.
- Works closely with the Director of MOMentum in order to ensure successful partnerships at the site.
- In liaison with the Director and Associate Director of Micro-Centers, directs and supervises the activities of the teachers and teacher assistants for the classroom.
- In liaison with the Director and Associate Director of Micro-Centers, sets schedules for all teachers and Teacher Assistants and manages the staffing of the classroom on an ongoing basis.
- Is responsible for maintaining all records pertinent to the operation of the site.
- Plans, directs, and participates in all areas of activities in the classroom directed toward the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children in their care.
- Stays with and supervises all activities of the assigned group of children when on duty, including the supervision of children inside and outside the building, during special events, and during all other activities.
- Assists in the pre-service and ongoing professional development of all Teachers and Teacher Assistants at the site.
- Maintains an orderly classroom.
- Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with all staff, parents, and volunteers of the agency.
- Is alert to the medical needs of children in their care and appropriately acts on their observations.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
