Position Details:

• Location: Volunteer Community School (part of Chambliss Center for Children), 506 Spears Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37405
• Pay: Starts at $11/hour with a High School diploma and no prior child care experience; $13/hour with a CDA. Rates increase with education and experience, up to $19.45/hour.

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to pass a fingerprint background check.
• Experience in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred. 
• A passion for helping children learn and grow.
• Creativity and enthusiasm in planning engaging activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise classroom activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Foster positive relationships with staff, parents, and children, maintaining open communication and a collaborative spirit.
• Stay alert to children’s needs and act accordingly to ensure their well-being.
• Maintain an organized and positive classroom environment, promoting respect and learning.
